Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II’s Multiplayer released a few days ago (don’t forget to read our review of it here), and after a lengthy experience that lasted over 20 hours, today we bring you 10 tips to help you improve your experience and enjoy Multiplayer more. These tips will be useful to you at the beginning of your entry into the world of Multiplayer in order to quickly become a professional, especially since we have Warzone 2.0 in just two weeks from now!
1- Wear headphones for gaming and surround sound
It may be a strange tip to start our article with, but it is one of the most important tips that will improve your multiplayer experience. Modern Warfare II offers some of the best sound design I’ve seen in the gaming industry, especially in footstep design. Although it is unrealistically loud, this is very useful in competitive matches.
Therefore, we advise you to wear a gaming headset that relies mainly on surround sound so that you can locate your enemies from behind the wall, so that you have the advantage when you decide to engage with them in gunfights.
2- Experiment with different Loadouts and don’t stay comfortable with just one combination
The customization possibilities in Modern Warfare II are endless, but some players make a strong loadout and keep playing with it for months, and this is what happened to us at the beginning of the multiplayer experience with previous Call of Duty parts. So, we advise you not to do the same!
Yes, you can customize a deadly Loadout that kills enemies in seconds, but not every Loadout will be a good choice on all maps or in all modes of play. Our advice is to experiment with the huge number of weapons and gear in the game and craft at least five different combinations to suit your play style across different maps and game modes.
3- The new Gunsmith system is the most important thing in Modern Warfare II
The new Gunsmith system is a huge shift from the past parts. The most important new feature is that if you open an attachment to a specific weapon (say, a specific Muzzle or Stock), you will be able to put the attachment on all other weapons of the same class. Meaning if you unlock Attachment for Assault Rifle, you will be able to use it on all other Assault Rifles.
The same idea applies to SMGs and other weapon classes. This of course makes the gaming experience more enjoyable and reduces Grind and playing for long periods of time to unlock all attachments for all weapons. You can also modify all weapons to make them fit your style of play, for example, you can change the Receiver of the SMG and replace it with the Receiver of the Assault Rifle, and this gives you the ability to create your own weapon in a way that suits your style in Modern Warfare II.
So do not rely on the Loadouts that the game offers you automatically, but rather take advantage of the new Gunsmith idea to craft your dream weapons in distinctive Loadouts that make you outperform the rest of the players!
4- The idea of the new Perks is unique and suitable for all players
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II introduces us to a new Perks system called Perk Packages. Each Package includes 2 basic Perks that you will receive at the start of each match and will always be with you. Over time in the match, you can get an additional Perk, then eventually you will get the Ultimate Perk.
Getting the extra Perks won’t be easy as you have to be active in the match, helping your team secure areas or killing as many enemies as possible. There is a challenge in it that pushes you to give your best as a player.
Therefore, we advise you to design your own Perk Package that matches your playing style. Of course, there are Packages available automatically that you can choose from, but as you progress in the game, you will need to make your own Perk Packages that suit your own play style!
5- Replace Killstreaks with Scorestreaks
If you don’t know, the Streak is about reaching a certain number of kills or achieving a specific Score, which allows you to use some features, whether throwing missiles at the map or obtaining a UAV to see where the enemies are. In every installment of Call of Duty, we’ve had Killstreaks or Scorestreaks, but Modern Warfare II offers you the possibility to switch between the two!
The difference between Killstreaks and Scorestreaks:
The killstreak you get when you make a certain number of kills
Scorestreak is obtained when you reach a certain score (apart from kills).
Therefore, we advise you to change the Killstreak to Scorestreak, as this makes the experience easier for you and makes you get all the Streaks by securing areas, making Assist, and various things in the map instead of focusing on kills only!
6-Focus on challenges because they are the basis for your rapid progress
Like any other online multiplayer game, Modern Warfare II offers you tons of daily and weekly challenges. Completing these challenges earns you experience points that help you level up faster. In addition, some of the challenges are related to unlocking Attachments or Camo weapons.
So do not enter the world of Modern Warfare II with the main goal of getting the most kills or winning matches, but keep in mind that there are great challenges that can give you a lot of special gifts!
7- Team spirit is the key to victory
Do not forget that in Modern Warfare II you play with real people and each one of them has his own thinking, and do not forget also that the game offers you a joint play feature and a voice communication feature within each match, so take advantage of this feature!
If you’re playing Domination matches or any mission or objective match, communicate with your team so you can beat the other team. There is no better motto than the one that Infinity Ward studio made itself: “Team spirit is the key to victory.” Coordinating with the team will increase your chance of winning matches, and also ensure that you are prepared for what’s to come in Call of Duty Warzone 2.0 and the DMZ.
8- Always look at the map
The map in Call of Duty always helps you to know everything that is happening around you, and the same is true for Modern Warfare II. Always look at the map so you know where the enemies are and where their Respawn area might be.
If you find yourself alone in a certain area of the map with no teammates around you, be prepared to get into a firefight as that area might be the other team’s Respawn Zone. This also becomes more apparent when you take a look at the map. All in all, make the most of what your eyes see, your ears hear, and you’ll find yourself on top of every match!
9- Beware of Tier 1 matches at the beginning of your Multiplayer journey
When you start experiencing Modern Warfare II, you will find normal matches, and when the first season is released on November 16, you will find Tier 1 matches. This type of match is a new name for Hardcore matches, which are much more difficult than normal matches. You can kill your friends if you miss the target, the user interface is minimal, and you die from far fewer shots than normal.
You can consider this playlist as a real-life experience, and therefore we advise you to stay away from it at the beginning of learning all the basics of Modern Warfare II. In the future, you can enter that Playlist and have a great fun with your friends, but that will only happen after you have mastered all the basics of the game.
10- Take advantage of new gameplay mechanics
Modern Warfare II offers you the possibility to do Dolphin Diving and that feature is able to get you out of many difficult situations. Just make a forward jump like this out of any door or from any window and you will find it saving you from a lot of situations in which you would inevitably die!
Also, the new climbing feature allows you to peek over the walls using your pistol before climbing completely, which gives you the opportunity to eliminate any enemy at the top that does not see you.
These were a few quick tips that will make your multiplayer experience more enjoyable in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II. If you have any other tips of your own, feel free to share them with the community in the comments below this article, and stay tuned for comprehensive coverage of Call of Duty Warzone 2.0 and the DMZ mode when they become available on November 16th. The world of Call of Duty is getting more and more interesting, and we are ready to spend more time in it and bring you the best content.
